I once read that John Bonham was 32 when he died. I was a teenager when he left us, and at the time thought he’d lived a relatively full life. I was 34 when I read that article. At that moment I realized that he was just a kid. In little more than 10 years, Bonzo made a huge impression on millions of musicians, myself included. Robonzo is a nickname given to me in jest by a good friend and former bandmate. I use the nickname for this site to pay homage to one of my earliest inspirations as a drummer. Hopefully my passion for all things drums lives up to this source of inspiration.
